ABOUT US
EMPOWERMENT FOR POVERTY ALLEVIATION COMMON INITIATIVE GROUP (EFPA C.I.G)
Founded by Dr. Namanga Ngongi Amos Georges, retired United Nations Under Secretary General, Empowerment for Poverty Alleviation (EFPA) is a non-profit making Common Initiative Group created to operate in the general interest of the public. It was created on the 11th of December 2007, under registration No. SW/GP/29/07/6497, in conformity with the provisions of Law No. 92/066 of 14th August 1992 and its Decree of Implementation No. 92/455/PM of 23rd November 1992, governing common initiative groups.
EFPA, with head office in Buea, South West Region Cameroon was created with a vision to advocate for Poverty Reduction, Food Security, Environmental Protection, Youth Empowerment and Agriculture/Agri-Business promotion, within communities and the country at large, where the rural population lives in abject poverty with many households live below a $2 daily income. This deplorable state of family income, poor agricultural inputs, poor harvest as a result of climate change, prompted the vision bearers to create EFPA as an advocacy organization catalyzing for poverty reduction in Cameroon.
